June feels like it’s arrived quickly and I have a strange feeling I say that every month… Life is full and fantastic. Here’s what I have to offer…
This month I am having a 20% off Sale on all original artworks.
I share another wet on wet watercolour painting demonstration: See how ‘Sailing‘, one of my favourite pieces from last year, was created and if you watch the slower version you will see a guest appearance from my beloved cat, Bo.
What’s currently on show at The David Giles Art Studios, & all 20% off if you mention this newsletter.
There’s a walk through of the Wanneroo Art Exhibition, which I feel honoured to be a part of – the standard of work is inspiring.
And details of the Lawley Art Auction, coming up Saturday 10 June.
Oh and sorry, no portrait this month…

My ‘Squares’ have me delving into the world of colour geometrically. How colours ‘feel’ to us always depends on the relationship they are having to each other and in turn that we are having within ourselves as we are viewing them. These colour ‘landscapes’ create moods and soul experiences for us to have via our sense impressions and in turn give us an inner colour sensation. Working geometrically there are boundaries between the colours and, with a set colour palette, I’m attempting to create harmonic pieces as I explore the varying tones and hues I can create, each one singing its own unique tune, enclosed in its boundaries whilst also raying out into the whole piece.
This exhibition is well worth the trek (if you’re from down my way) or perhaps you’re lucky and live closer… I found the works diverse and inspiring and of a very high standard. The gallery is lovely to wander around in amongst the artwork and there’s even a buzzing cafe downstairs for you to enjoy a cuppa afterwards. A must see for all art lovers.
